Trisha started her career with a small role as Gayus friend alongside lead actress Simran in the film JODI which released in the year 1999 . Though trisha was offered a small role she acted well with a good performance. Trisha was offered this role after she was seen in the HORLICKS advertisement by the director of the film JODI. .

After this she made her debut as a full fledged actress in the film titled LEYSA LEYSA in the year 2002 . This was the film of the famous director turned producer PRIYADARSHAN. But unfortunately this film was a flop on a commercial note . Trisha also acted in the films titled MANASELLAM AND ALAI which released in the year 2002 & 2003 beginning . But to her misfortune these films also proved to be big flops commercially .

In the year 2002, Trisha also acted in the film Mounam Pesiyadhe which won her a film fare award for the best debut for the year 2002 in tamil . she was also praised by the critics for her acting talent .

Trisha then acted opposite Vikram in the film Samey which happened to be a big blockbuster and was a commercially very much successful. Then she was also offered the lead heroine role in the film Ghilli opposite actor Vijay . It released in the year 2004 . This film was a record commercial blockbuster and also a remake of telugu film OKKADU. She was praised for her immense acting and dancing talent . Another film which was released in the same year 2004 was ENNAKU 20 UNNAKU 18. Trisha played the character of Preethi . It was a story of a criminal who in the disguise of a village head grandson enters a joint family and who reforms gradually by putting an end to his own evil deeds . Trisha acted as a bubbly village girl who loves the hero and gets back him after his evill deed reformation . In this movie she danced well to the tunes composed by famous tollywood music director Mani Sharma in frequency and rhthym matching with the actor Mahesh babu . She also won the best filmfare award in telugu . later after this film success this film was dubbed into tamil by the title Nandu and in Malayalam by the title Target.

In the same year she acted in the telugu film titled Allari bulodu opposite hero Nitin which was a big flop.

In the year 2006 three of her films released with the title Pournami , Bangaram , Stalin . After her telugu hits she was considered opposite-to big actors like Chiranjeevi , Pawan kalyan and so on …In the movie Pournami she acted opposite to hero Prabhas which was produced again by Ms .Raju. which was a biggest flop of his career . Even Bangaram with pawan as a hero did not work well . Then Stalin which was also a big flop.she acted opposite to Chiranjeevi in this film . Trisha looked very young in this film opposite chiranjeevi who looked more like a father to her than a hero .

In the same year i.e 2006 her film titled SAINIKUDU with Mahesh babu released . It was released on November 30 th . There was a huge expectations from Mahesh fans as his pre film was Pokiri which broke all time records of the telugu film industry was a smashing hit . At the same time these both became a cute pair on the screen after Athadu . But it was not up to the expectations .It did a average business in India and United States.

In the year 2007 , Trisha acted in the film Aaduvari matalaku Ardhalu Verule which was directed by the tamil famous director Selva Raghavan . This was released on April 27 ,2007. it was a smashing hit . Trisha lived upto the expectation of her fans and director . This was her first hit in 2007 . It was a musical and a family entertainer .
